Key Indicators Graphical System (KIGS)
Dr Foster Intelligence's (DFI) Key Indicators Graphical System (KIGS) tool helps managers to assess the relative performance of local authorities.
KIGS contains Performance Assessment Framework (PAF) Indicators which combine data from the following sources:
- Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC)
- Department for Education and Skills (DfES) returns
- Population and census data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS)
KIGS has been updated with the following for September 2008:
- PSS Budget by client group
- People in receipt of disability allowance data
- People in receipt of retirement pension data
- Home care services data
- Total and PSS net current expenditure
- Outcome indicators of children looked after
- Adult's performance assessment framework indicators
- Children's performance assessment framework indicators
- Public service agreement
- PSS gross current expenditure
- PSS unit costs
- Referrals, assessments and packages of social care
- Standard and infant mortality rates
- Residents supported by local authorities
- Staff of local authority social services departments
